Born in Taiwan, Vincent Lussier is an artist based in Montreal. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Visual and Media Arts from the Université du Québec à Montréal, where he received the Excellence in Sculpture award from theMcAbbie Foundation.
His work was presented in both solo and group exhibitions, most recently at the Musée d’art contemporain des Laurentides. Through figurative and abstract works, Vincent Lussier's practice explores themes of the human condition, nature, the future, and childhood. Created in various materials such as bronze, ceramics, wood, and plastic, his sculptures utilize the symbolism and iconography of these elements to generate a dialogue that opens reflection on various issues relevant to our time. By using the representation of the body and various everyday objects as a universal language, he is able to create allegories that produce tension on both narrative and visual levels. These sculptures encourage the cultivation of not necessarily concrete solutions, but rather an increased sensitivity towards the future. Furthermore, by employing multidisciplinary technical knowledge and combining traditional and modern techniques, he also creates abstract and formal sculptures, thus celebrating the materials around us and their unlikely encounters.

This bronze sculpture is the result of a meticulous process that combines both traditional and modern techniques. To explore new technologies and creative avenues, the original work Thrive was subjected to 3D scanning, capturing every detail of the sculpture art. Using digital modeling software, the work was reproduced and adjusted in size and proportions while maintaining the integrity of the original.
Once the modeling was complete, a plastic shell was printed in 3D and used as a model for the final bronze casting. Through this process, the piece was transformed into a unique bronze art sculpture, coated with a black patina and protected with wax. Presented on a granite base, Thrive Miniature stands as an expressive example of abstract art sculptures, blending innovation with tradition.
